Background Information

Oral and Maxillofacial surgery requires up to 4 additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from an accredited dental school. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the specialty of dentistry that includes the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.

As an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Sharafi treats a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Sharafi has extensive expertise in dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery and facial trauma. Dr. Sharafi’s passion is full mouth reconstruction with dental implants. He is one of the only surgeons in southern California who performs the All-on-4 procedure and zygomatic implants. In 2010 he performed over 130 arches of All-on-4 to rehabilitate patients.

Our staff are trained in assisting with intravenous (IV) sedation or outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. Our goal is to provide you with the best quality facility, staff and surgical techniques.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, and ACLS trained, who assist in administration of IV sedation and surgery.
